Two Detentions Following Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

The assault caused the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park.

An additional two individuals have been arrested in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The attack - which police said was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
